Whistler Programs

Active Start

Gymnastics is the ideal Active Start activity. Classes, focus on creating movement challenges for children to explore and resolve. Children PLAY at their own pace and lessons are structured to allow for individual differences. All pre-school age children should have the opportunity to participate in a gymnastics program.

Parent & Tot Ages 1-3.5yrs is a 45 minute class focused on building physical literacy by exploring skills and activities in a safe gym environment. Parent/Caregiver participation is mandatory. Strong walking skills needed.

Kinderkids Ages 3-4 is a 45 minute program. This class is for 3-4 year old’s who do not need any prior experience in gymnastics. This class focuses on increasing physical literacy and building fundamental movement skills.

Gymnastics For All

Gymnastics For All (GFA) includes all non-competitive programs offered. GFA is available for all age ranges, abilities and program goals. These programs are geared towards having fun, developing fitness and acquiring fundamental skills. Gymnastics provides a solid foundation for important skills such as balance, strength, flexibility and overall body awareness that can be transferred to all other athletic activities.

Whistler Fundamentals Grade K-1. This program is for those young ones who are new to gymnastics. This class will increase fitness ( Agility, Balance, Coordination and Strength), develop confidence and build fundamental movement skills necessary for participation in any physical activity and sports.

Whistler Fundamentals Grade 2-3 Gymnastics and Trampoline. Children continue to develop and master the fundamental movement patterns. They also begin to learn gymnastic sport skills. The skills they learn in FUNdamentals gymnastics programs are beneficial for both competitive and recreational activities in any sport and will enhance the quality of life and health. Children can move from recreational gymnastics to other sport programs.

Whistler Fundmentals Grade 4-6. School aged children continue to develop and master the fundamental movement patterns. They also begin to learn gymnastic sport skills. The skills they learn in FUNdamentals gymnastics programs are beneficial for both competitive and recreational activities in any sport and will enhance the quality of life and health. Children can move from recreational gymnastics to other sport programs, bringing with them all of the benefits of their participation in gymnastics.

Whistler Gymnastics runs a variety of Summer, Holiday and Spring Break Camps, for all ages. These are between 2 and 4 days a week and run from 9am-2:30pm.

Perfect for adults who are seasoned gymnastics or are new to gymnastics.

Led by a skilled and certified coach, these classes will kick off with a group warm-up and conditioning, followed by learning skills on different gymnastics equipment. Each participant will receive personalized challenges while focusing on techniques and conditioning for each exercise. At the end of the session, participants will walk away feeling like accomplished gymnasts!

Trampoline

Trampoline GFA includes all non-competitive programs offered. It is available for all age ranges, abilities and program goals. These programs are geared towards having fun, developing fitness and acquiring fundamental trampoline skills.

Trampoline Gr 2-3. A recreational, foundations trampoline class that teaches the fundamentals of trampoline safely while having fun. The class will also introduce and progress with fundamental skills in traditional trampoline, freestyle and tumbling.

Trampoline Grade 7+ This class has lots of diversity! Offering a mix of trampoline, tumbling, and ninja. The coach provides class instruction and supervision for the foundational skills and progressions through gymnastic and trampoline. A great way for boys and girls to practise & master skills in the gym before taking them to the hill.

Trampoline

These programs focus on participants who have chosen to specialize in Trampoline Gymnastics as their primary activity. Participation may be at an advanced recreational or competitive level, basic skills are well established, and there is a long term commitment to the sport. Fun is still important and it takes on a different meaning as training becomes more structured and skill oriented.

Trampoline Advanced is a pre-competitive program training 1.5 hours/week. This program focuses on fundamental competition skills and development for Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline, and Tumbling.

Competition Trampoline is for those advanced participants who have chosen to specialize in trampoline gymnastics at a competitive level. Training is 2-4 days a week and focuses on skill development and routines for competing in Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and Power Tumbling. This program progresses athletes from Level 1 Provincial Competitions up to National and International Level.

Women's Artistic Gymnastics

Whistler Gymnastics offers competitive and pre-competitive levels of training for Artistic Gymnastics. Training hours for athletes will vary depending on their age, ability level and level of competition. All athletes are expected to represent their club at competitions in BC. Both competitive and pre-competitive programs are under the guidance of the Women's Artistic head coach.

WAG competitive – July 15

WAG Comp Development is for selected participants to compete in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor). The program runs 2 days per week at 6 hours per week training towards competition in Artistic Gymnastics at the Xcel level.

WAG Comp is for the advanced athletes specializing in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor). Participants train 3 days for 9-12 hours per week in preparation for competition at Interclub and National level under the Xcel program.

Interclub Program Whistler

Interclub provides a training framework and offers opportunities for athletes to attend sanctioned events, at which they perform gymnastics routines to showcase personal ability. Designed for all levels. The program focuses on the opportunity for gymnasts to perform.
